Rondo - Rybka 1/2-1/2

The big game was up next, against the by-far favorite Rybka, world champion from 2007 to 2009. I was a bit nervous, but was ready for an exciting game at least. Erdo the book man gave Rondo a pretty nice position out of book, and allowed Rondo to get a nice time advantage, staying in book longer. I was happy to see Rondo and Rybka agree on a slight white advantage. White's position was more active and had more winning chances. Rondo was happy for a while, but Rybka, after not very many moves, settled on a draw score. The game became more and more drawish, though of course I wanted to see if Rondo could pull off a win. Eventually though, it got quite tedious (the game lasted about 4 hours), and we agreed to a draw. I was quite happy with that result, and was happy to escape without losing.
